Employment - Program Director, Socio-Economics Program, CIMMYT

The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) has launched a new Socio-Economics Program to address socio-economic andenvironmental issues surrounding technology adaptation and adoption in developing countries. The program will work with maize and wheat scientists toprioritize and ensure the relevance of their efforts, particularly for the resource poor and considering evolving markets and value chains. The program buildson decades of strong work and leadership in agricultural economics and impact assessment at CIMMYT, and will extend and intensify partnerships with advanced research institutes. CIMMYT invites applications for the position of Program Director Socio-Economics. The position will be based either at one of CIMMYT’s regional offices in Africa or Asia, or at CIMMYT’s headquarters in Mexico. The selected candidate will be expected to spend considerable periodsof time traveling in all three regions. The position is for a fixed-term contract of 5 years, subject to the continued disbursement of approved funds, after which further employment is subject to performance.
